We offers a 2 day slow boat to Laos from Thailand, Chiang Khong to Luang Prabang on the Mekong River. The trip will spend one night half way in Pakbeng. During the cruise we will stop to visit the local people and the famous Pakou caves, where there are thousands of Buddha images. This cruise includes transfer pick up and drop off, tour guide and fee at the caves.
The slow boat is a Lao style, open air long boat, with a top cover. The boat has interior decoration, comfortable seating, and a western toilet. The cruise includes two lunches, green tea, Lipton coffee, black coffee and instant coffee, water and some fruit. There are also alcoholic drinks and soft drinks available to purchase.
This is a wonderful way to journey through Laos and an unforgettable experience along the Mekong River.

Day one: departure from Chiang Khong to Pakbeng
At 7:30 AM Mr. Air, my colleague on the Thai side, will pick you up at your hotel, then take you to the Thai border (the friendship bridge No.4) he will help you to cross the border. He will give you a Lao visa form and immigration form. You then have to checkout from Thailand, then taking the shuttle bus to the Lao side cost 20 baht, the toilet are on the both side Thai and Lao.

When you walk pass the police will double check for your passport.
Then transfer from the border to the pier, slow boat will departure when you are there, the boat will takes 6 hours to Pakbeng.
Thai side and Lao side for the first hour, in this area the fisher men can catch the grand catch fish, they catch them by the big and long net on the Mekong River, they can catch in dry season, in march and April.
On the way we will stop to visit the hill tribe people, they live on the both side on the Mekong River, most of the local here they are agriculture.
There are school at the village, the kids go to school and lean Lao language
Some kids there have uniform, if they don’t have doesn’t matter
They start primary school at 6 years old, after here they have to go the town, some finish only here, because their parent don’t have money don’t support for their children’s

The continue to Pakbeng.
Pakbeng is a small town, and also a checkpoint, it a half way between the journey
It set in a hill mountain, accommodation in Pakbeng is not so many for the tourist
Restraints, bakery shops, bars.
Few temple here, morning market and evening market, ATM and banks available next to the Market.
There also one main road about 140 kilometers to Oudomxay province
One bridge cross the river north of Pakbeng, they call Pak kan bridge from here to go to Thai border Nan province about 55 kilometers.
The second day starts in the morning at 8 am.
If it good luck time you will see the elephants on another side on the river (elephant camp).
When the boat journey down the river will takes 7-8 hours to Luang Prabang.
This area is narrow and more adventure beautiful rocks and local people live on the both side on the river.
One the way we will stop to visit the local village to lean their cultures.
The last one stop to visit the Buddha caves, there are twos caves nearby, the first one they call “lower cave” and the second one call “upper cave”

We have minivan to pick you up at the pier to drop off at your hotel in Luang Prabang.
If the hotel is outside of the town, you have to pay extra cost US$20 each.
